PannionSeer It's quite minimal, pairing sparse ambient dub/techno with tiny snippets of textural field recordings, but the execution is absolutely flawless, and the production strongly and wisely emphasizes the clarity of each carefully crafted layer. At its best moments, this album's effect on me is similar to top-tier dub techno; it feels like being wrapped in a cocoon of warm, tranquil sound. The artwork for this is excellent, too. Favorite track: Protae.

Simon Whight I have a searing headache and this is precisely the only sound that is acceptable to my brain right now. Soothing, amniotic electronica, with 12th Isle's fantastic artwork absolutely on its A game.

While being best known for creating deeply immersive live psychoacoustic experiences, the London based Pataphysical have allowed us to use 'Periphera', the fruits of their debut studio work, as the label's eighth musical oblation. It would have been an excercise in futility to try and replicate the immediacy of their live performances on this record, but we feel that across these 8 disparate tracks inner worlds have been rendered real. Through the careful positioning of field recordings and the creation of soundscapes somewhat reminiscent of heyday Mille Plateau the group have held fast to a desire to craft involved and captivating synthesis.
